Certification

The age rating of our film is 15, we have chosen as a group after regarding the action within the film and what is the general rating for several Spy Thriller genre films.

The rules for a '15' rated movie are :

Anyone under the age of '15' is not aloud to be aloud to watch this film within a cinema.
Anyone under the age of '15' would not be aloud to purchase the film within a store or rent it.

Discrimination
No discrimination will not be aloud through language or behavior within the film.

Drugs
Throughout the film drugs may be shown but it can not encourage or promote the misuse of drugs. It is unlikely to have misuse of highly dangerous substances which are easily accessible to be acceptable. ie, Aerosols or Solvents.

Horror
Strong threat and menace are permitted unless sadistic or sexualized.

Imitable behavior
Dangerous behaviour (hanging, suicide and self-harming etc.) should not over show the detail in which could be copied. Easily accessible weapons should not be glamorised.

Language
You are able to have the frequent use of strong language e.g 'Fuck'. The stronger  terms such as 'cunt' may also be acceptable if justified by the film although aggressive or repeated use of such language may not be pe rmitted.

Nudity
Nudity may be allowed in a sexual scene but strong detail will not be permitted. There are no constraints on nudity in a non-sexual or educational context.

Sex
Sexual activity may be shown but no strong detail allowed. There may be strong verbal references to sexual behaviour, but the strongest references are unlikely  to be acceptable unless justified by scene. Works where the primary purpose is sexual arousal or stimulation are unlikely to be acceptable.

Violence
Strong violence may be shown but it should not focus on any infliction of injury or pain. Images which are strong in Voilence, Goryness, Sadistic or Sexualised are unlikely to be acceptable. Within the sexual violence there may be detailed verbal refrences but any protrayal of sexual violence must not be shown in full through out a scene.

Evaluation
With our film in the full version containing sexual behavior, nudity and violence, our film would be considered a 15 as also there would be disturbing images to go with our age rating.

Film Poster

Using a recce picture, I designed a film poster on Photoshop to go with our film Encryption. It includes a disc next to the name and age rating logo with our production company and distributing company on the poster as well.

Update:

A Matrix Font of DaFont has been added with a fade and ocapacity put then with it all around like an encryptid code.

Making the soundtrack.

Using Logic Pro yesterday I recorded the soundtrack to our film. Adding drum loops with myself recording  the bass and guitars via an i02 connection plug into the Mac. The soundtrack is not fully edited yet and we may add vocals as a spy sounding vocal speaking ie like "007 license to kill" saying in James Bond films or theme tunes. The soundtrack has a slow start with it going upbeat what is to be planned for when the man is getting chased, the end is a slow and fades out for when the titles will come up.

Here is a picture of the mixing process of the soundtrack.

Old Vs New Title Sequence

To Kill A Mockingbird - Old
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rP5MutuPVxk
Whilst watching this sequence I noticed how it was slow in transaction and slow starting. It showed a child going into his draw with various items in it and moving it about, this showed that the film will be based around the child and the connotation represents innocence and purity. The music is slow and elegant which goes nicely with the movement of the camera whilst going past various items in the draw.

SuperBad - New
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlX_O4s67Dk
Superbad is a great sequence to show how new film intros can be shown. With the technology today, we include old styled music whilst green screen's and computer editing make it different to add several people doing the same thing or different thing on the screen. It shows how technology has advanced and how it makes it possible to do different styles to the opening sequence whilst it gives mainly nothing away apart from it being about teenagers.

Comparison
To comparise these 2 title sequences shows how we have advanced with music, filming and editing. Now possible to add many layers, different backgrounds, different ways to show something or someone ie. as a cut out. This makes it possible for all to know how we have moved forward in the industry and shows how with the new technology possibility's are endless.

Filming Day One

On Saturday 15th January 2011, we went filming at Oxleas Woods/Shooters Hill. We got a establishing shot of the location of the film. We also shot our running scene of the main character and the spy. We encountered a few problems within shooting after going back on it which included the time amount on the running scene what needs to be extended and the fact that my jeans have split from a slip whilst on the last running scene which now means we need to reshoot the running scene as a case of change of clothing. We are now looking at a new date to film the whole lot again and the dad and son scene, the new date is to be discussed with the group but it the estimated would be Saturday 22nd January but it is depending on availability of time and weather.

Institution Research

Universal:

We have chosen Universal as our distributing company as they are a big distributor among the film industry, they are run by Viacom. We decided to pick them because where Universal is such a well known, established name, we could get all the exposure as possibly needed to aide our film's succession throughout the world. Also, Universal are known worldwide for producing famous action/thriller films, I.E " The Borne Trilogy" which generally have substantial success, which we feel is a big bonus to the release and distribution to our final product.

Here are the other film distributors we could of used.

Touchstone Pictures:

New Line Cinema:

Treatment

Codes and Conventions

Filming Locations, Settings.

Whislt the main character is getting chased within the woods it should be a setting of turning to dusk or dusk to give it that warm evening effect with mysteries to happen at dark.

For the establishing shot it should be at night with a scape of London from a hill to show where the whole film will be set.

Production Logo

Welcome to Four Lions Productions, I myself chose the name as I did not know if we had one yet. The name and logo represents different parts of our journey. We are all english and with it being an English Production company I have included the St Georges flag in the background with a black background behind the image I have done an effect of Interpolation on Fireworks to give it a look to make the lettering of the Urban Sketch font stand out. The font also has effects of Blur and Glow added to make it abit bigger. The name Four Lions is to show there is 4 of us within the company and we are english and productions is because we produce media. This was made on Adobe Fireworks CS3.

EDIT UPDATE:

On a day I was ill, one of our teachers and several members of my group decided Four Lions Productions was not the way foward with our production company name or logo. Elliot then decided on Explosive productions and made an animation at home. This is the resulting work.
